TWO MAIDENS

4 years ago I lost my heart

On a fair June summer day

To not one maid, but two!, and even worse,

They're twins they say!

Blonde sunlit hair and skin like cream,

With eyes of fairest blue

I've known many women but with a single glance,

I was hopelessly lost, I knew.

Fair Lady Bethany could entrance any man;

Those eyes! Her smile! He's lost!

A spell woven by a master of womanly charm,

Irresistable though your soul be the cost.

And then there's wild Caitlin, and though she's a beauty,

Her mastery lies elsewhere.

She can carve any man like a Christmas bird,

When her broadsword cleaves the air!

So what can I do? My reputations' ruined!

My shield brothers laugh at me.

Does anyone know some wise man? Noble lords and ladies,

Please help me!

It's been four years now; Hopeless misery!

I'm madly in love with two.

I'm the same wild rogue who led the Skull

And I don't know what to do.

Oh well, that's it then, I'll keep them both,

Regardless of what others say.

For Caitlin and Bethany are my daughter-twins,

Oh what a glorious day!
